Swell/Surf Analysis
Variety of small-scale swells on tap for the weekend: Old SSW swell leftovers, minor WNW swell, and NW windswell will setup mostly waist high or below waves Saturday. Note that we will see a deep 5.2’ high tide at 7:13am which will have shape pretty weak/gutless. However, the “inside” shore break sandbar should offer a few quick corners/sections. Dropping tide through the late morning/midday (1.2’ at 1:16pm) will open up more opportunity on the outside sandbars.
Thanks to a recent low pressure system that developed in the central South Pacific earlier this week, we’ll see new/modest long period S-SSW swell forerunners creep in Saturday afternoon/evening and building further through the day Sunday. Although the peak of the this swell isn’t till early next week, the building trend Sunday will be good for waist/stomach high waves and sets up to the chest high mark by afternoon. Again, peaky shape due to little uptick in NW swell mix.
