Swell/Surf Outlook

Size is on the smaller side for Tuesday and most of Wednesday as modest scale SW (230-220) swell set up by low intensity low  tracking through the Central SPAC last week laps in. Most surf is in the knee-waist-stomach high range, with occasional peaks to chest high during the more favorable stages of the tide.  Wednesday afternoon sees a fresh SW swell start to creep in, for a few larger sets showing late in the day.

For Thu/Fri a decent new SW swell (225-205) moves in courtesy of increased storm activity moving through the Central South Pacific last week. While the winds and seas in this system were better aimed at South America, some modest to fun-zone surf will get into Jaco. Size looks to be in the waist-chest high range for the most part, with occasional shoulder high+ waves during the best stages of the tide. Those wave heights hold for Saturday.
Better round of SW/SSW swell picking up by the end of this weekend, again thanks to a more robust storm which recently moved through the Central South Pacific. The new Southern Hemi shows strongest during the afternoon, for waist-shoulder-head high surf.
