The first-ever International Surfing Association (ISA) World Adaptive Surfing Championship presented by Hurley and Challenged Athletes Foundation is set to take place September 24-27 in La Jolla, California and unite the global community of adaptive surfers.

By teaming up with the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), one of the recognized leaders in the physically challenged sports community, the ISA is excited to unify world-wide efforts for the advancement of Adaptive Surfing. This World Championship will serve as the preeminent platform for physically challenged surfers to display their talents in competition.

The four-day celebration around the greater City of San Diego and will include the following days of activities:

  • Thursday, Sept. 24, 8am-1pm — Adaptive Surfing Volunteer Clinic and Expression Session for physically challenged surfers at La Jolla Shores
  • Thursday, Sept. 24, 5pm — Opening Ceremony at City of San Diego Balboa Park with the Parade of Nations and Sands of the World Ceremony
  • Friday, Sept. 25, 8am-4pm — Opening rounds of Adaptive Surfing competition to begin at La Jolla Shores
  • Saturday, Sept. 26, 10am-1pm — Adaptive Surfing Symposium featuring keynote speakers on future Adaptive Surfing development at CAF
  • Sunday, Sept. 27, 8am-4pm — LIVE webcast of Competition Finals at La Jolla Shores to culminate with the event’s Closing Ceremony
